Thanksgiving weekend

This past weekend, Maya learned to say "uh-oh" and uses it very appropriately. We also bought an HD camcorder to record all the wonderful new things she says and does. I am really sick of the camcorder right now, as daddy has decided to record everyone and everything! Hopefully he'll get over it soon. There's a good vid of Maya waking up from a nap. We recently moved her crib off the heating register. Unfortunately, she now can reach the pretty ladybug border on the wall that she promptly tore a large peice off of the other day. I'll post it tonite where you can see her reaction to daddy questioning her about it.

Upside down baby!

Updates

New pics to come............sheesh, people!

Maya can say "Mama", "Daddy", "hi", "byebye", and "MAYA!!!!!!!"

She points to things and exclaims, "MAYA!"

She has both incisors coming in, although she still only has the two front teeth on bottom and the four on top. She's been in a lot of pain and has been EXTREMELY whiny and fussy!

She has decided she doesn't like to eat dinner anymore, nor does she like sitting in her high chair.

She has become quite the cuddle bug and loves to cuddle all the time with mama (but not daddy).

She can fake cry THE MOST ANNOYING fake cry at the the drop of a hat and can turn it off and on like a switch. The sound burrows into your brain and makes you want to jump off a cliff!

But, she's still cute and I love her so much!

She LOVES to organize laundry piles (I think she's immitating me). She'll carry out a couple of things from her dirty laundry basket, put them in a pile on her play mat, sit down, and then one by one, put them in a different pile. Then she will carry the pile to another spot and do it all over again.

She likes to take dishes out the dishwasher, especially bowls. She will put the bowl over her face and walk around with it covering her view.

She loves to throw toys over the gate blocking the stairs and watch them crash to the bottom. She recently heaved her Little People Farm over it! Which reminds me....she loves to pick up the most heaviest object she can get her hands on and walk around with it. This morning, she tried to lift a full gallon water jug. She didn't get far.

She likes to take things out of bags and put things back into bags. She also loves to raid the refrigerator and run around with whatever she's stolen - it's usually something from the door, like mustard or salad dressing. Then she'll throw it down the stairs.

Her FAVORITE game by far is: run down the hall to her room, and shut the door. Then I will knock on it and ask if anyone is home. She gets so excited when she opens the door!!!

Pics soon.

SPOOOOOOOOKY

Updates

Maya is now big enough to be turned around in her car seat. Facing forward is very fun! She likes to see where we are going.
Maya had her first split lip last night. It was very sad. She tripped, fell, and put her bottom teeth through her top lip. She cried and bled a lot, but enjoyed biting on her frozen popsicle to reduce the swelling.

Here she is sporting her new coat from Mima and a hat she got for Christmas last year that now fits:

Updates

Ok, ok, so I've been a slacker. What can I say. Maya is now a year old. We went to Chucky Cheese to celebrate, but she came down with a terrible cold that afternoon that lasted almost two weeks. According to her year check-up, she still doesn't weigh enough to sit frontwards in the car seat (but what baby rides totally naked anyway?)

As a weight loss goal, my friend Liza and I, trained for and ran the Bar Harbor Half Marathon Sept. 21. I finished in 2hours and change. Liza was right behind me! It was great running weather and the runners were fun. The course is hard but I think I'll do it again next year. Our next goal is the San Diego Marathon this May. We'll see.

We also celebrated Maya's first birthday a week early in Bar Harbor. Maya's grammy made her a "blue ring" cake. Her cousins and Aunt came over to play and we all had a wonderful time. Although mommy's legs wanted to fall off!
Thanks to Aunti Liza for all the great pics.
