Cute purple outfit. Don't mind the spit up spots.

Does this outfit make her hair look red?
It's really hard to keep up with the blog when you have a baby! The last two weeks were a bit rough. Maya was spitting up a lot. She was very uncomfortable; squirming and grunting. She wasn't sleeping well, which meant I wasn't sleeping either. Maybe she has gas, maybe she is lactose intollerant, maybe this maybe that! As a new mom, everything is a question. Here's something I've learned quick, though: if you feel like something's wrong - it usually is. Just go to the doctor. So we finally went to the Dr. She has gastric reflux and thrush.
Through diligent medicinal application, the thrush is pretty much gone. The gastric reflux meds, Zantac, seem to be working too. It is, however, a mint liquid. Note to the idiots who designed this drug: babies don't like the taste of mint! And it's seriously important to get them to swallow it...but you're fighting an uphill battle when all they do is spit it out because it tastes like shit to them. So, I sit there with a 1cc syringe squirting meds into her mouth and sucking up what she spits out, only to squirt it back in again! Fun. She probably hates me.
Maya now weighs 10lbs 7oz. She's got chubby little cheeks and is very, very cute. I love her so much! She recently decided she likes her swing and has also discovered the leaves and animals above it! She's graduated to size one swaddlers and is wearing 0-3 month clothes now! She smiles! But more at Adam than anyone else.
